FLINT, Mich. and Traverse City, Mich- June 20, 2016 Flint based Michigan Timber & Truss (MT&T) today announced it has acquired a 15 acre, 23,000 sq.ft manufacturing facility formerly occupied by wall panel manufacturer, Precision Building Systems. The new facility is located in Buckley Mich, just south of Traverse City.
MT&T will be making a substantial capital investment into the new facility creating a state-of-the art wall panel and truss operation. A new Blade linear saw with a Wood Runner retrieval system, and auto jigging tables will be the cornerstone to MT&T’s quality and efficiency.
The company plans on employing 15-25 workers over the next 5 years and has recently added two truss industry stalwarts, Pam Kellogg and Keith Neimitz to the team, representing over 40 years of combined truss experience. Also joining the team, a group of four production leaders who have completed 6 months of training at the company’s main facility in Flint in anticipation of the move.

This acquisition will enable us to grow and better service this market place from Grand Rapids to Harbor Springs. Our General Manager, Kirk Honeycutt, will spearhead the expansion of the new plant coming on line,” said Thomas R. VanEvery, President.
A grand opening for the new MT&T-North plant is scheduled for August 2016. The company will market its products to high volume builders/contractors and selected retail lumber dealers.
